With the animal relief efforts, use this form.

Feel free to grab the form and disseminate it if you have the time and the inclination. Our relief structure for pets here in Louisiana is being stretched very near the breaking point.

There are two ways for people to donate money to aid in the animal recovery and shelter effort.

  1. Checks and money orders can be sent to the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association. A donation form can be downloaded from the LVMA website at www.lvma.org. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Dr. Walter J. Ernst, Jr. Veterinary Memorial Foundation, 8550 United Plaza Blvd., Suite 1001, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. Please put “Hurricane Katrina Fund” on the memo line.

  2. The SVM has also established an account at the LSU Foundation called the “Spirit of Veterinary Medicine Hurricane Katrina Animal Relief Fund.” Checks or money orders need to be made payable to the LSU Foundation and sent to Pat Edwards, Office of Institutional Advancement, School of Veterinary Medicine, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA 70803. Please put “Animal Relief Fund” on the memo line.
