Go read John Howard's open letter to a father who, after losing a son in the Bali attack, was critical of Australia's "closeness" to the US.
Posted by nukevet at November 26, 2002 02:36 PMMr. Howard was much more polite than I would have been. Grief and pain I understand, scapegoating a goverment he didn't like anyway is immature, and not rational. The effect of the fathers letter is that he argues not to get involved, stay out of the war, not their business. Mr. Howard destroyed that premiss easily. If the father wants to live in a fools paradise, so be it. The rest of the Aussies are smarter than that.
