The anti-war, peace at any price as long as it's dead Americans crowd's preformance is underwhelming to say the least. Maybe if they offered free beer? Nope, they wouldn't be caught dead attracting the wrong element, you know, working class people. Because we don't believe it's all about oil. Silly people, we happen to think it's about blood. A fight to the death with evil. When thats what the focus is, goofy goth anarchists are pretty easy to ignore. The buckets of puke in ANSWER can eat sh*t, I have no time for them at all.
Posted by: puggs on February 15, 2003 12:19 AMWell, Bush is Evil, though less Evil than Saddam.
I'm not anti-war, but I am anti-Bush.
So fight Evil to the death, in whomever it may reside in any degree.
It's not ALL about oil, only partly.
The most under representative in the demonstrations are those who who know what it is like to live under Sadam, not in the Potemkin Villages they show to Sean Penn, but in the Kurdish ans Sunni villages. They pray every day that the war will get started soon.
Posted by: Gene 6-Pack on February 17, 2003 12:28 AMRight, "Bush is evil", thats nice Syl, now put up the names of someone you like and or trust so I can make childish comments on them. It's also nice that you are against evil, now if you could just find a better definition than the one you are using, say from a dictionary.
Frankly Syl, I doubt you got the hair to fight anything to the death. Fight it till you get really, really tired maybe, or your mom calls you home.
Posted by: puggs on February 17, 2003 01:23 AMSee, you think because I am anti-Bush I am also against taking action in Iraq.
Not true.
I think the only solution is to pave it over at this point.
But that doesn't mean I trust Bush any more than I trust Saddam.
I know what evil means, and I know the evil the Bush Family has done.
Look into their history with unbiased eyes.
Look where their millions come from.
Anyway, there are things I will fight to the death for.
And I am prepared for any such contingency should it arise.
Funny, I know people who say the exact same things about the Kennedy's. Joe Kennedy was a nazi sympathizer, his money came from rum running with the mafia, he brought up his sons to deliver this country into the hands of the Pope. A little fact mixed with a lot of fiction, unfair and ultimately self-defeating.
You're saying that since Bush's grandfather may have been a bad man, a given I reject since conspiracy theory and made up evidence are rife on the web, it automatically follows that W. must also be evil. Sins of the fathers? No, if you want to hate someone find a better reason than you hate his grandpa.
If you define Bush as equivilant in kind, if not in degree, to Saddam, then we have nothing to disscuss. I gave up hating people for political reasons a long time ago. I suggest it's you who needs to look with unbiased eyes. Clinton was a political master, he was also a bumbling fool who handed off every major problem to his sucesser, he had no shame, he had no honor. But I don't hate the guy. Carter was stupid to the point of insanity, and still is. If the game is to find reasons to hate a national leader I would pick someone a lot less honorable and decent than George W. Bush.
You are prepared? Jesus, what you think some Gop ninja SWAT team is going to come for you? Really? Syl you really need to lighten up, this isn't the Fourth Reich, Indymedia propaganda to the contrary. The rumors that people are "disappeared" is just that.
Posted by: puggs on February 17, 2003 12:13 PMHad to break off, my brother got stuck in the drive way, two foot drifts and all.
I just wanted to say, if you believe all the anti-Bush stuff out there, then why disbelieve it about someone else? Name any president and you can find people who believe he's the anti-christ. All of them sincere, all of them looking for a scapegoat.
Posted by: puggs on February 17, 2003 03:09 PM"now put up the names of someone you like and or trust so I can make childish comments on them"
There is currently no one in public office that I can think of that I either trust or like.
"since Bush's grandfather may have been a bad man, a given I reject since conspiracy theory and made up evidence are rife on the web"
I didn't initially find it on the web. It is common knowledge that Prescott Bush had business dealings with the nazis-- Trading With The Enemy.
This is not an urban legend or internet conspiracy theory, it is a historical fact.
Simply look up Prescott Bush and it's all there.
" it automatically follows that W. must also be evil."
You know, I think the term "evil" might be a little strong in this case.
Perhaps I should say Very Very Bad People, whereas Saddam IS Evil.
The Bush Family still sits on Prescott's ill-begotten wealth.
W stands to inherit that wealth.
It's a skeleton in their closet that no Bush has ever been brave enough to confront, let alone refute, because it can't be refuted.
Every single Bush that I know of has been in trouble with the law, federal, local, etc.
There's that whole Skull And Bones nonsense that bothers me as well.
By the same token however, public offices are filled to capacity with corrupt greedy traitorous types, Bush is just another in a long line of them dating back to the beginning of this country.
I agree with your last point.
I have been alive to see nothing but a string of horrible presidents from Nixon down.
And maybe hate is too strong a word too.
I don't hate Bush like I hate Sean Hannity, for instance.
But I don't think he's either honorable or decent.
I don't trust him. I don't trust anyone in the Bush Family.
Looking at W's past, I personally believe he is not qualified to run the most powerful country in the world. But neither was Gore........
And for the record, I never liked Clinton either, so it's not a dem/gop thing.
Yes, I am prepared, but I don't sit around my house with the drapes drawn looking for black helicopters.
Hope For The Best, Expect The Worst, I guess.
Ok, a fair airing of views. We are never going to agree, that much is obvious. So I'm going to ask you this, do you really think this darkly all the time? We all have moments of dispair, but if I may, surely you can see some reason to be hopeful about something. Cynicism will just leave you bitter.
