SO why are we wasting our time again?

A quick round-up of the recent Iraq events (as detailed by CNN).

The bit that caught my eye:

"Whatever happens, France will vote 'no'," Chirac said on LCI television in his first televised interview on the Iraq crisis

Exactly. Nothing short of a smoking crater where Wall street used to be will ever change France's mind. It's time to quit wasting time trying to gain the support of people who oppose us just because we are the US. We need to either go forward, or not, based on the evidence we currently have in hand.

I think we move forward (big surprise there), but even if you choose to ignore the "missing" biological and chemical weapons, what about this?

But of course, the mission of Hans Blix has changed - his goal now is to avoid war no matter what the cost, not to disarm Iraq.

I'm not convinced that the French government would be displeased by a smoking crater where Wall Street used to be. They might send flowers, maybe run a headline saying that "We are all Stock Brokers Today." Don't expect much else though.

JC is right. In fact, the Parisian nomenklatura would even applaud.

Like they did on 9/11.

That's precisely the reason why the US led coalition shouldn't waste its time with the UN farce and the French government thugs.

Thanks for the backup, dissident frogman. I like your blog, BTW. Nice to see there are still sane, upstanding people Over There... even if they're not running the asylum at the moment.

"JC is right. In fact, the Parisian nomenklatura would even applaud.

Evidence?

If this humble newcomer may offer an opinion: Don't feed Harmonia the Troll. It is immune to facts, it likes to reinterpret them for its own use, and it's not worth the time and effort to lower yourself to its level.

I offer as evidence my link to an embarrasing German report: Despite the date of December 2002 and the reference to Hans "I can't find my ass with both hands" Blix's report of "a week ago" Harmonia the Troll believes it was Blix's report from 1991.

Evidence?
I live here. I hear them speak. I can see them on TV.

Some of them had champagne while watching the pictures that were in the air over and over that day.
I saw them. With my own eyes.

Marc Edouard Nabe, a French writer declared on a TV set that he wished he could have been one of the box cutters used to hijack the planes.

And I lost the count of all his peers who declared one way or another, and with an obscene joy, that what happened in New York on 9/11 was "well deserved".

That "We are all Americans" motto hardly last two days after 9/11.

But of course, don't take my word for it. After all, was just born here and I'm just living here right?

Want more evidence? Come here and watch them on the state ran channels. Enjoy your stay.

Oh, by the way, Thierry Meyssan was born here too.

Ooops. Sorry Loyal Citizen Victor, I fed the troll while you were warning us not to.

Posted by: the dissident frogman on March 11, 2003 09:31 AM

No need to apologize, M'sieur. It was merely a suggestion. I know firsthand of similar evidence; the problem is we will offer tons and tons of it, and Harmonia the Troll will ignore it, because he refuses to face reality.

May I also express my admiration for your blog? It is truly on my read-every-day list.

Well Loyal Citizen Victor, what else can I say to you and JC other than a sonorous thank you ?

And the good thing is that I now learned about your blog.

I love the internet.

Evidence= I am telling you this.

Now that is convincing as I dont know you from Adam.

Try again, this time with links.

Greetings to our friend The Dissident Frogman. I've enjoyed your work as well, and am kicking myself for not going to your site more often.

"Now that is convincing as I dont know you from Adam." The same could be said of you Harm. You shouldn't belittle a first person account unless you wish to ensure that no one gives your's any credience. Now be good, companies here.

Posted by: puggs on March 11, 2003 11:15 AM

A personal account, well perhaps if it was from someone with no axe to grind perhaps, but a quick look at your web site shows you are hardly a neutral observer....

Now you might not know me, but then again I am not the one asking you to believe me am I?

"Now be good, companies here"

And the little patronisation at the end, how clever you are!

So lets draw this to a conclusion, if you are making a statement back it up, not difficult, vous convenez?

Posted by: harmonia on March 11, 2003 11:20 AM

Agreed. J'en conviens. That's precisely what we've been asking to Saddam for more than a decade.
Yet, you apparently have no reason to doubt his statements.

You two are close friends maybe?

Thanks for the greetings puggs :)

Posted by: the dissident frogman on March 11, 2003 11:41 AM

I doubt his statements very much, thats not the argument, the argument is if there is a clear case for war or not?

I am on the side of those who do not believe the case has been made, and that this rush to war conceals ulterior motives other than those being publically stated.

I realise that might make me a "Cheese eating surrender monkey" or whatever, but thats my view.

As far as feeding the trolls goes - I banned Harm for a bit, but the intrinsic entertainment value of the site suffered because of it.

"...the intrinsic entertainment value of the site suffered because of it."

bwaaaaaaaaaaaa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

I never considered that! Please forgive me!

OK, Harmonia, since it's apparently not true unless it's posted on the internet, here's your link. You'll need to scroll down just a bit. I hope an eye-witness account will suffice.

Posted by: Loyal Citizen Victor on March 11, 2003 12:22 PM

"How clever you are." ........Oh THANK you.

Patronize you Harm, now would I do that? Heh, why of course I would........Because I think you are young and have a made up mind, a dangerous combination for truth to survive in. Why if I didn't already have a Padawon learner, I might consider wasting time on your education. But that job's been filled, sorry. I take my duty to bring forth more minions of darkness very seriously.

I know a bunch of young people, a couple of whom I respect immensely. Not because they agree, but because they are open and honest, and willing listen without trying to shout down other opinions.
