Drop this guy a letter

And let him know what you think about HIS letter in USA Today:

Americans have a tendency to call members of our armed forces heroes. I disagree. I've seen our troops in several wars and would conclude that the term "cowards" suits them better.
Why? Consider:
*I've watched how members of the armed forces bomb defenseless countries from 30,000 feet, killing both soldiers and civilians without descretion.
*I've considered the pictures and reports I've seen in the media during the past few days. They tell how greatly inferior the Iraqi army and civilians are as they are challenged by the world's deadliest fighting force.

The Iraqi people are undoubtedly my heroes. They are defending their country from a foreign invasion against all odds. Only international law and the pride of their country are behind them.

I salute them.

Curtis Francis Doebbler
Washington.

He is, apparently, a "Distinguished Lecturer in Law and Politics" at the American University in Cairo.

You can go to his University home page here.

or his personal home page here.

Or access his e-mail here.

His photo on the University page has a sort of chickenshit green coloration, which I guess is about right.

"Without discretion"?! We bend over backwards to show discretion. Time and time again the United States caters to the bovine scatology of your type. ("Your type" being the mouths false propaganda.)

I don't want to send him a letter, I want to look into his glass doll eyes when I lean in close to whisper just exactly what parts of his anatomy I'm going to break off and keep. I want to see the terror in his eyes when he comes face to face with aggression, naked, raw, and oozing violence and death from every pore. Just at the point when he wets his little girly underware......I back up and tell him I would do those things, if I were an bathist.

He doesn't get it and never will. He's a troll in sheepskin clothing, nothing more. He wrote that letter to outrage, because he doesn't have anything else to say. This pathetic little pecker has nothing to offer real victims, because he loves our enemies to much to notice them.

This jackass makes me want to puke...right in his face.

Freedom of speech?

Not if we dont like what you say no.

Posted by: harmonia on March 31, 2003 04:10 AM

Indeed, thats why you were too frightened to post a comment harm.

We say what we think about a letter to the editor of a national paper, we are also engaging in free speech. Does it only apply to you?

A clue harm, freech speech does not equal free from criticism. You have an awfuly thin skin for someone who likes to provoke so much. The Chief and I have strong opinions, veterans do, get over it. We've paid our dues, and will damn well say what we think. As will other veterans and readers who feel moved to comment.

It you consider yourself brave for attempting to beard the lion?, heh, harm the only danger you face here is that your sense of supriority gets mauled.

this guy runs a Yahoo! list here, where he states that any American taking a leak anywhere in Iraq is breaking the law. I haven't joined, but I'm thinking about it. . .but I wonder how much input any members might have. All but three or four posts are from him.

It's here: https://groups.yahoo.com/group/AmericanWarOnIraq/

Curtis, I'm sure that Hell is full of people like you.

Posted by: sunberry on April 1, 2003 09:32 AM

OK, I joined. The reason no one else has posted anything (except for a user called AmericanWarOnIraq@. . .no doubt Mr. Doebbler himself) is because members can't. There is a chat option, but no post. I found this little pearl o' fact-twisted poop:
> snip
FACTS:

American troops fired on a civilian car carrying 13 women and
children killing all but four women near Najaf, Iraq.

INTERNATIONAL LAW:

Customary international humanitarian law prohibits the targeting of
and attacks on civilians and civilian objects. This attack on a
civilian car was a violation of the laws of war.

It is also a violation of the international human right to life of
the civilians in the car.

RESPONSE:

The United States should arrest and punish those responsible for
this violation of international humanitarian law.

The ICRC, the UN, and the international community in general, should
condemn this breach of the third Geneva Convention and ensure the
punishment of those responsible.

> end snip

So no one can correct him on anything--but why would they? He's a tenured professor expert, and we're just. . .not.

Posted by: Loyal Citizen Victor on April 1, 2003 09:58 AM

So the Iraqi soldiers are the heros? Why? What are they fighting for? It's not the Iraqi people, seeing as they use them as human shields and would rather have a bunch on innocent women and children die then themselves be shot. It's not their oil, since they set that on fire. What is it? What are they so bravely fighting for?

Posted by: sunberry on April 1, 2003 11:11 AM

Actually, he's an assistant professor, so no tenure for him [yet]

The latest news is that he's gone into "hiding" because he frightened for his life. I'm sorry but that's God damned funny considering that he was calling for the death of US troops. I gather he never learned what irony was while in school.

The really funny part is that no one will actually bother looking for him. In a year say his name and everyone will go, "who was he". He'll still be hiding out in a cafe somewhere, trying to pick up coed's with tales of daring do in the culture wars. Just another loser hawking for a book deal.
