Checking in with the International Solidarity Movement.
It seems that they are now asking for donations for a legal fund. The Israeli government has started detaining and deporting the "internationals" and also flat out denying them entry to Israel. They want the money to "use it as a stage from which to expose aspects of the Israeli aparthied system". You know, putting people who want to blow up Israeli citizens in a certain area and check them going in and out of said area.
Oh yeah, and they are asking for money to ship one of their "martyrs" home to the UK. They want 20,000 UK pounds to ship home a guy with a headwound and his parents. Another reason we shouldn't use the 5.56 round. Shipping home a corpse is much cheaper. But oh well. Why did they fly all the way into the belly of their beast with out enough money to get themselves and him home? Sounds like what some of the Iraqi human shields did a few months back. What is it with peaceniks, did they fail basic math?
If these two begging cups don't tweak your nose quite enough, you can call your congressperson to tell them not to vote for a bill (no number given) that will "call on the US government to conduct a 'full, fair and expeditious investigation' into the death of Rachel Corrie (St Rachel of the Dozers).
The funniest part of this "call to action" is that they're accusing "pro-Israeli lobbyists" of "exerting extreme behind the scenes pressure" on representatives to vote against it. So if you can, call your reps and become part of the ZOG!
Posted by AnalogKid at May 28, 2003 05:29 AM | TrackBackI just watched one of their spiffy little home videos of 4 simpletons sitting in a road in front of an IDF patrol. The IDF came cautiously down the road, looked around then backed up and went down a side street. All accompanied by brave little slogans and taunts from these buffoons about their backing down from the people. Yeah, sure, whatever feeds the fantasy. Check out the bimbo in the bright red stretch pants, bet she made the local Palestinian mullahs just happy as Hell. Struting around like she was at her kids football game. These people aren't brave, they're just stupid.
If anyone had thrown a molotov cocktail from one of the surrounding buildings, those APC'c would have just blown through right over them. You don't allow yourself to get bottlenecked in a street while taking fire. These aren't serious protesters, they're thrill junkies. Getting off on bearding a safely tame lion, they know the Israeli's won't kill them deliberately, so they feel free to taunt soldiers in an area that's dangerous to them.
Do that to an arab patrol, we'll be sure it's a closed coffin ceremony. I'm glad I saw that video, I hate these fools even more now. Pompously clueless, and damn proud to be so, they'll go home actually thinking they accomplished something besides making ass's of themselves.
Analog Kid I share your missgivings about the 5.56mm round. I know the reasons for adopting it, I can understand them, but I was more comfortable with the M-60 most of the time. The 7.62mm had much more finality behind it, now if it just didn't weight 23lbs.....I never fired the M-14, but I understand some Special Forces people carry it as a weapon of choice.
Posted by: puggs on May 28, 2003 09:04 AMThank you Mr. puggs. I may just do a expose on the M-14 soon. I don't own mine anymore (darn people who offer me money for my guns at the shooting range). Maybe I'll have to build another one.
And yes, the troops in Mogudishu were quite impressed with the M-14's performance there in comparison to the M-16-A whatever. Imagine, one shot, one kill. What a concept, eh?
