Thousands starve, hippies carry signs in support

"GM crops will not feed the world. Indeed making poor farmers dependent on biotech companies for their seed may only make matters worse.’
Indeed no-one in that report has a good word to say about GM.
Still it is amusing watching you cry crocodile tears about world starvation, something US right-wing loonies have never bothered about before, mind you any weapon will do when you are trying to bash Europe eh?
Posted by: harmonia on June 24, 2003 10:46 AMActually, I read everything before I post it here. I think it is amusing that you point to a statement by a spokeman of an "advocacy group" that flies in the face of what all of the data suggests as proof. But that's your way, isn't it?
Posted by: Nukevet on June 24, 2003 12:02 PMIndeed, the article merely stated that the European groups are making charges, and claiming that Americans are just uninformed. Considering that the track record of the FDA is far superior to any EU agency in protecting consumers, Americans can afford to be a little more trusting. There was no thalidomide debacle in the US.
It's always about money with them, they complain about GM foods because it's allowing the US to outstrip them by far in food production. They refuse to compete, so they do the next easiest thing, try and get it banned. Typical of them.
Posted by: puggs on June 24, 2003 01:13 PMI thought I saw a post yesterday promising harmonia wouldn't be back. Too good to be true, I suppose.
