I'm ready,
I humbly request of my Captain the privilege of storming the enemy bridge. I promise no survivors, no quarter. Oh, I also found a target list. Many pretties to be collected here, much good killing.
Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam --Today is a good day to die.
War isn't for the weak willed, you must be ruthless. No quarter, no hesitation. You must become Shiva, the bringer of death.
Always a warrior,

It might look a little weird on a boarding party, but hey, those phasers might poke a hole in the side of the ship, and I like breathing, most days.

Yup, but it is an even better day to make those Commie F*cks die. Buckshot or slugs?
Posted by: Eric Sivula on November 16, 2003 08:51 AMYou touched on the one glaring misstep on a lot of sci-fi Mol, you wouldn't give out weapons on board a vessel that could hull it. Lick a shootout on an airliner, you may survive, may not, but there should be better options.
Seriously, I liked the style of combat shown with the Baht'lev, the fluid grace, rather similar to some of the different Shao Lin disciplines. That's for close in work, after using stun grenades to clear the corridors first.

Buckshot is very good, but I've come to appreciate the effectiveness of rifled hollow point slugs. More precise with devastating hit potential.
I never would shoot from the hip, aimed shots only. Mass destruction is what grenades are for.
Posted by: Mark (puggs) on November 16, 2003 12:08 PMMol would be ok with his buckshot, it sure wouldn't penetrate the hull when used against the enemy. Solid slugs would, but what would be the point of using them when the effective combat range would be 10 yards?
Perhaps the question should be, what is being boarded? Better yet, can you carry enough ammo to get all of them?
