Actually, I have seen it both ways, and she was referred to as "Daniel" in the fatwa. I haven't heard if there are any statements from her. In fact, I have come across conflicting accounts of where she is - I have heard that she is safely in the US, but also that she was detained by the Nigerian government. I certainly hope the latter is not true.
