Wonder why soldiers choose not to re-up?

I submit it is because of actions like this.

I mean, some things are just intolerable.

What a croc. Me and a half dozen other Marines (both officer and enlisted) walked into a strip-club in our dress blues right after the birthday ball once. "Poor effect on good order and discipline...." My ass. If that ain't a team-building, camraderie inspiring event, then I don't know what is.

Gotta love the Army. When Gulf War I ended, they ship the units back home accompanied by a series of "nanny" lectures.

The Navy? A week of liberty at Pattya Beach, Thailand.

It's just stupid... the best way to ensure that soldiers (or sailors) will do something is to tell them officially that it's banned. Just leave well enough alone; if they're not breaking the law or hurting anyone, keep your nose out of it.
