What will YOU put up with?
Ally of the WhoMovedMyTruth Blog relates an unnerving lesson she learned at school.
I'm not going to spoil it for you here, because I want you to read it all.
And during your free time this holiday, get real introspective on the topic of 'What will YOU put up with?'.
As a psych major in college (read: night school), I took Social Psychology last semester. We take our classes in an office building, operating as a satellite campus from the bigger college in Reading, PA. Our ages range from mid-twenties to late forties. One night, our professor was late, which was out of the ordinary. An Alec-Baldwin-look-alike walked in the door, dressed in business clothes complete with pocket watch. He was probably 6'4" or 6'5" and was holding our class list. I assumed he was a substitute teacher. He barked out orders at us to get ourselves seated in alphabetical order. He gave no reason and said we should be adequately spaced. We were anticipating a mid-term, so if he was the test monitor, this did not seem unusual. However, we only have enough chairs for each of us. So we were cramped, frustrated at the instructions, and nervous about our test. Next he told us to clear the desk in front of us. Get a drink if we wanted one as we would be here a while. We were to place our belongings behind our chair. I felt my hackles rising, but complied. So far, strategically, I was not in a bad situation. My seat was now at the front of the room, and it was only he between me and the door.

Wow, that's downright scary. But not surprising.
