Truly Sick
I don't know who did this,
Bald eagles found slaughtered in Vancouver B.C.A flash of white feathers lured Julie Bryson-McElwee's dog into the bush. She followed when he didn't come back. A dead bald eagle lay on the forest floor. Lunging to keep her pet away from the carcass, Bryson-McElwee stumbled on Wednesday across a shallow grave, piled with 14 of the protected species. The legs and tail feathers had been cut off, possibly for sale on the black market.
"It's just sickening," Bryson-McElwee said in a telephone interview on Thursday. "Whoever did this had a real operation going, there were garbage bags all around the grave and in it. It looked to me like they were killed somewhere else and brought here to be buried."
Wildlife officers investigating the killings say they aren't uncommon.
"We have found birds mutilated like this over the years," said Rick Hahn, a senior conservation officer for the Lower Mainland. "We suspect there is a black market trade in the talons. Eagles are traditionally used by First Nations people for cultural ceremonies.
But if I ever caught someone doing something like this, I have a feeling that it would be they who would be getting mutilated and their corpse found by dogs (If at all).

Germany wants immigration limits
BERLIN - The German parliament's Home Affairs Committee said on Wednesday that Jewish immigration from the former Soviet Union should continue, but urged de facto limits by calling for migrants to undergo German language tests and checks on their employment qualities.
You know, with their history in just the 20th Century, this probably isn't the wisest piece of legislation.
And the leftists want us to be more like Europe.
No thanks.

An insurgent was caught planting bombs under vehicles in Baghdad on Monday.
I think I'm liking the Iraqi version of 'street justice' right about now.
In Reutersland, this guy is only 'a suspected insurgent', even though he was caught red-handed.
DANEgerous has his own idea as to this guy's true identity.

From the "About Damn Time" Department....
Grand jury probes Rich-Saddam link
A federal grand-jury investigation of pardoned financier Marc Rich's role in the U.N. oil-for-food scandal has focused on whether he helped Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein reward the families of Palestinian bombers who carried out suicide attacks in Israel, sources said yesterday.
Law-enforcement authorities and congressional investigators said the grand jury wants to know whether cash funneled to Saddam by oil traders including Mr. Rich to help arrange multimillion-dollar Iraqi oil deals for political leaders and well-heeled investors was used by the now-deposed dictator to pay the bombers' families.
Uh-oh, this report is from the Washington Times.
And look! It mentions Israel in the first paragraph!
It must be a neo-con conspiracy to get back at Rich for giving money to Hillary's Senate campaign!.
I'll be watching the DU for this one to pop up.

Under cover of night
Late Monday night, the Kind County Council met to vote on a their proposed land grab. It passed of course.
Now, if you live in King County and own property in the rural areas, you are now only allowed to develop or clear 35% of your property.
Raging Dave does an excellent job of expressing my feelings on this topic.
The vote was split 7-6. Along party lines, of course.
I have a source that says a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the law was filed the next morning. But remember, the Washington State Supreme Court ruled that if you viciously beat someone, and they happen to die because of it, you cannot be tried for murder. Manslaughter only.
So I'm not holding breath that the right decision will be made.
Another Seattle local blogger, Mollbot, has a reminder for the lefties on the council:
I think the 7 Democrats on the Council approached this backwards. See, properly organized greedy Socialst totalitarian assholes the world over know that the proper order of events is this: first you take their guns, then you take their land, then you take their freedoms one by one, then you start taking lives. They've started in the middle here in the armpit of the Evergreen State, and damned if Socialists making mistakes isn't a tad amusing, even when I'm enraged.

Oz Anti-Semitism Report
Tom Paine reports @ Silent Running
Around fifteen minutes ago, I was standing on the footpath outside Minotaur, Melbourne's premier science fiction and fantasy bookstore on Elizabeth St, just north of the intersection with Collins.
Some guy just comes up to me out of nowhere, a bit scruffy, denim jacket, jeans, baseball cap, looked a bit like he may have been a student, around 22 years old; shouts "Fuck Israel!" in my ear and then walks quickly off in a northerly direction, saying "Free Palestine!", albeit at a more normal volume.
Being the lightning-reflexed witty racounteur that I am, I cleverly retorted by standing there with my mouth open wondering if what had just happened had just happened.
Guess that's what I get for being in the open while wearing a kippa. What a lovely way to get ready for shabbat. Oh well, at least I didn't get stabbed.
Yes Tom, to get stabbed, you'd have to be in france.

Electronic Electioneering
Hey Puggs, you live anywhere near this place?
'Fahrenheit 9/11' To Be Shown At Polling Site
ELYRIA, Ohio -- A hot-button film is getting multiple viewings at a local polling place the week before the election, NewsChannel5 reported. Some say the West River branch library should not be playing politics.
Library user Jim Pengov is seeing red.
The library is a polling place on Nov. 2 and the controversial movie critical of President George W. Bush is set to air three times the weekend before the election.
"They just got a one-mill levy passed. Taxpayers, like it or not, are paying for Michael Moore to spread his rhetoric at an official polling site two days before an election -- in a key state," Pengov said.
Librarian Debby Kressa said she is surprised by the complaints.
Kressa said the movie came in and she just wanted to accommodate all the people on a waiting list to sign the movie out, so she thought it would be a good idea to show the film in the library's movie room.
The library posted an announcement that "Farenhype 9/11" will be aired as well. Officials are hoping that this will provide political balance for airing "Fahrenheit 9/11."
Pengov said because the library is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization he will go to court next week to try to stop the library from showing the movie at a polling site.
Notice how they play the librarian as 'just trying to be helpful'?
Also notice that they do not mention when 'Farenhype 9/11' will be presented at the library?
How much do you want to bet that it'll be AFTER Nov. 2nd?
There is also an online poll you can take if you click the link. So far it is in the right column, but go make your voice heard.

A New Way for the Left
To get rid of Pro-Bush/Iraq War signs.
Family told to remove Blue Star banner supporting son in Iraq
The family of a soldier serving overseas says their landlord told them to take down a small banner they put up in support of the man.
Isabel Seiler put the banner up two weeks ago after joining Blue Star Mothers, a support group for parents with children in the military.
The banner features one blue star, signifying her son, Christopher, who is in the Army.
Families have displayed such banners since World War I, and they stay up until their children return home safely.
But on Wednesday night, Isabel says her landlord told her to take the banner, along with a Support the Troops sign, down.
Im upset, she said. Im upset because I look at the other apartment units around us, and they have Kerry-Edwards signs in their windows. And I dont understand why I cant have a Blue Star banner, because its supporting our troops.
I guess it's kinder than chucking a rock through the window, but it is still so wrong.

Imminent Sphincter Malfunction
This news should give all of those Islamic extremists just a wee bit of cause for concern.
DAMASCUS - Hamas said on Monday an Arab country might have helped Israel assassinate one of its leaders in Damascus, an act it called "treason."
Senior Hamas official Iz a Din al-Sheikh Khalil was killed by a car bomb in the Syrian capital on Sunday.
"We were not convinced initially, this would be treason for an Arab security apparatus to be involved in this," Hamas Lebanon head Osama Hamdan said of a report in the Al-Hayat daily.
The Arabic daily said an Arab country had given the Israeli spy agency Mossad information about the movements and habits of Hamas leaders abroad.
"Now, because of what happened yesterday or through other information, there are indications that this may be case," he said.

Oh Canada!
Why do you support freaks like these?
TORONTO (CP) - More than a hundred protesters gathered outside a Toronto movie theatre Tuesday to protest a screening of the film Casuistry: The Art of Killing a Cat at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The protesters were angry about the film's inclusion in the festival, saying it glorifies an act of animal cruelty. The film explores the case of art student Jesse Power, who along with two friends tortured and killed a stray cat in May 2001. The three men videotaped the torture of the cat, claiming it was an art project.
The trio eventually pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and mischief charges.
Their tape of the grisly crime is not included in Casuistry, but the protesters felt the filmmakers glorified Power's act of violence.
Animal rights activist Suzanne Lahaie organized the protest along with her group Freedom for Animals.
"This case has hit people all over the world," Lahaie said in an interview before Tuesday's protest. "The film fest should be totally ashamed."
Lahaie said the movie gives Power a platform, but "the only platform he should have is in court."
Lahaie admitted she had not seen Casuistry, but has seen the original video of the cat's killing, which is in police custody.
"Not too many people did see that, but they are able to base an opinion on it," she said. "You don't have to see something to really base an opinion."
The protest outside the Cumberland Theatre was non-violent but vocal. Demonstrators chanted "Shame, Shame" while one woman with a megaphone described the cat's painful death in detail.
Some held pictures of the cat while others carried signs reading "Cruelty is not art" and "Demand tougher cruelty laws."
I think that even Mappelthorpe would be disgusted at this. And he stuck a bullwhip up his ass.
How can anyone think that skinning a live cat on video is "Art"
Now I know why they want to take away the guns in Canada. "Artists" might be shot on sight.

The American Right of Protest - Part Two
If there was ever a reason to physically abuse (read: beat the crap out of) those who would call themselves 'peace protesters', this would be it.
DALLAS -- A candlelight vigil took place Wednesday night to remember U.S. war dead in Iraq during the week of the 1,000th casualty. One North Texas family whose relative -- Chad Drake -- was killed outside Baghdad on Monday, was among the mourners at Dallas City Hall Plaza.
A family friend said the vigil turned abrasive toward the family members. The friend sent an e-mail message to NBC 5 News that described the alleged treatment some vigil attendees directed at the family.
The family friend's message alleges Drake's mother was "harassed and yelled at, booed and hissed, told her son died for nothing."
Drake's mother reportedly left the event in tears.
The family attended the vigil because they thought it was meant to honor U.S. casualties. The event was organized by the Dallas Peace Center, which opposes the war.
The Drake family says they were upset about the antiwar tenor of the assembled crowd. The director of the Dallas Peace Center said the event was not intended to be an antiwar rally, but said e-mail notifications of the vigil were sent to a broad audience. Because the venue is a public place, he said, a variety of people with various views on the war in Iraq attended.
He also said the event was planned to include political overtones, but the Drake family should have been informed.
The center, however, did issue an apology to the Drake family.
"I want to be clear in issuing an apology to the mother of the recent victim of that war," Lon Burnam, of the Dallas Peace Center, said. "I can certainly understand why she would not feel comfortable in that particular venue with that particular group of people."
Peace Center officials said they believe the Drake family left before the scheduled events started, and the family might not have seen the planned ceremony.
Drake's sister told NBC 5 News that the family thought some of the crowd was hostile, so the family departed the vigil.
The left, berating the mothers of fallen soldiers for nearly 30 years. Because they care.

Another Gun Control "Success"
Crime has gotten so bad in some neighborhoods of Washington D.C. that they've called out the National Guard to try and kep things quiet.
The D.C. National Guard is stationing high-powered lights in the Dupont Circle area this week to brighten dark streets that might have contributed to a rash of robberies and the slaying of a popular waiter at a neighborhood restaurant, officials said yesterday.
The lights were originally scheduled to be deployed at 14th and Chapin streets NW on Tuesday night to fight drug dealing. But D.C. Police Cmdr. Larry McCoy asked that the lights be moved to help police deter street robberies.
Now, this is got to be a somewhat dangerous job for the DCNG soldiers. The criminals probably aren't to happy that these guys and their lightsources are helping their prey and therefor taking away their monetary source.
If just one of these men or women are shot at, I want the person who fired at them found, tried and convicted of something along the order of attempted murder.
I also want left wing protesters down there to demonstrate against the city government for creating a 'quagmire' with their anti-gun policies.
Yeah, I know. Dream on.
But since I'm dreaming, I then want all law abiding citizens who want them, issued gun permits and given a $100 off coupon for the purchase of their first firearm.
Head on over to Ravenwood's Universe (where I found this) and read about some dimwit hopolophobe who thinks D.C. is safer than her home district of Fairfax, Virginia.

You know the old saying....
The first step towards overcoming a problem is admitting that you have one.
Wow. The denial runs deep here. Funny how the author is more worried about the safety of "holocaust sceptics", as he calls them, than the actual anti-Semitic overtones of what is happening in his country. Damn whoever desecrated the Jewish cemetery! Now holocaust sceptics won't feel comfortable coming to New Zealand and speaking their minds!
Whoever did it owes us an apology for creating an impression around the world that we have an issue here. We simply don't. You grow up in New Zealand neither knowing nor caring whether companions are of Jewish descent. And if they happen to mention their heritage, they probably find others interested but no more so than if they were Dutch or Catholic. My Catholic roots define me in some eyes more than I think they should, and occasionally I sense a prejudice but it is not worth mentioning.
I really wonder about anti-Semitism. All sorts of prejudices were permeating societies such as ours 50 or so years ago and they are not now. Anti-Semitism died the day the victors of World War II opened the Nazi death camps. The Holocaust was not the only genocide of its scale in recent times but for Europeans it was the closest to home and still haunts the Western conscience.
The argument appears to be "there's no such thing as anti-Semitism any more, so New Zealand couldn't possibly have a problem with it." Yeah, that's a winner.
But this bit is even worse:
Many of the statements that groups such as the Jewish Council nowadays regard as anti-Semitic are in fact anti-Israel - there is a difference - and most of those that cross the line come from Arab or other Middle Eastern sources which, really, can be forgiven.
Jews, to them, are invaders who constantly insult their territorial and cultural integrity. And I am not talking just about the foundation of Israel and its subsequent seizures of the rest of Palestine. Invasion and seizure of their homes and property is still a common experience for Palestinians in the West Bank.
Emphasis added. So, the anti-Semitism of the Arabs can be forgiven, because the "perceive" that the Jews grabbed their land. Doesn't matter whether or not that has any basis in fact, but the Arabs perceive it so no harm, no foul. I guess it's OK for the Arabs to kill innocent Israeli civilians because of this "perception" as well, eh?

The left really is blind and deaf.
I haven't heard of this lawsuit before and having read this account in the Village Voice, I hope this asshat looses. Not because he's muslim, or because he's an idiot, but because he's taking the enemy side.
Lights out for a Muslim electrician's job after he argues over trade center attack
Indeed, he heard a lot of yelling and cursing, he said, much of it aimed at Muslims. Although some were strangers to him, Pjetrovic knew most of the others well, and he chimed in with his own thoughts about the tragedy and the government's reaction.
"I said it was too soon to know who was to blame," Pjetrovic recalled. "I said remember the Oklahoma City bombing, with the media so quick to blame Muslims. I said, 'You don't know who did this. Could have been CIA, the Jews, the Chinese, the Russians.'" True Muslims couldn't have done it, he said, because the acts violated precepts against suicide and harming innocent people or fellow Muslims. As for President Bush, Pjetrovic called him "a coward" for not immediately returning to Washington that day. One co-worker angrily walked out during the exchange, but later returned to shake Pjetrovic's hand. "He said, 'I am sorry I got hot. I have worked for three days.' "
Alright then, he's an antisemetic piece of trash, and as the story continues, it becomes clear he was in your face about it. So his employer fired him for being disruptive, and a potential security risk, having used company computers to download weapons information. The thing that makes no sense is that he became a practicing muslim over the events in Bosnia, over Serb atrocities, yet when muslims attack America, he can't even bother to defend his country in words, after it was the US that ended the Serb rampage.
That the Voice thinks it's all just a little misunderstanding is willful blindness, the left is so busy being multiethnic that they can't see what it is they are defending. If he wasn't muslim, they wouldn't bother, if he were Jewish and the firm was muslim owned, they wouldn't notice, if he were simply white and spouting militia lines they'd want him jailed. This has nothing to do with what is right, but what is PC.
This guy's a douchbag and while he may have a right to be, he doesn't have a right to be paid for it. That a leading leftwing voice thinks he does, says everthing you want to know about them.

I can top that
I'm sure that you've heard Hillary's "For The Common Good" comment from Monday.
I can top that.
Here's the scoop....
If you live in Washington's most populated county, King County (the one I currently live in) and have 1+ acre of undeveloped rural property, the county council wants to be able to tell you that you can only develop 35% of your land. Develop means something like a structure or a yard.
Also, you are only able to 'permenantly cover' 10% of your land with something such as a paved driveway or a structure. Structures include things like homes and outbuildings.
And here's the kicker...
You have to pay taxes on 100% of YOUR LAND.
But they say it is for "the common good".
Don't believe me? Here's their side of the proposal.
Why am I only giving you their side? Becuase none of the media sources in the area have seen fit to write about the taxpayers side.

In Review: Memorial Day
I held off on any 'news and opinion' posts over the weekend, starting Sunday, out of respect. But now that the day of rememberance is over..............
I spent part of today going through the left wing blogs (AKA: AnybodyButBush Blogs, Kerry Blogs, Dem Blogs, etc) looking to see their offerings for the soldiers who have given their freedom and their lives so that we and they can have this freedom of speech known as blogging.
Needless to say, I was disappointed.
The right wing blogs went all out. I think I got eight links to the post I put up and I saw at least four or five multilink posts from various right wing blogs directing people where to go to see and read items in respect for the men and women of the day. Nearly every blog that could be thought of as 'right wing' put up a post. be it big or small, it was something. There were a few exceptions. Both Michele (A Small Victory) and Lee (Right Thinking on the Left Coast) are both in the middle of moving to new abodes. But by and large, everyone made a recognition of the day and said their peace.
The leftie blogs, on the other hand, pretty much sat the weekend out.
I went to a total of 105 blogs that lean, either moderately or heavily, to the left. I found links to them through various ABB Blogs I visit regularly or semi regularly. None of which deserve a link here.
Only 54 even mentioned the day. Of those, only 29 said something positive. And only 14 of those did not delve into Bush-bashing in their posts.
I quit when I felt the urge to pick up something sharp. It ususally began with stupid statements such as "Bush started the war and now Kerry is going to have to restart the draft to finish it." I saw something like this three times.
But the dumbest thing I read was someone, I think, trying to compare American soldiers to the feminist movement. She has a whole list of blurbs like this...
If you have the right to refuse sex with a diseased husband [or just
"husband"], thank a feminist.
If you can look forward to a lifespan of 80 years instead of dying in your
20's from unlimited childbirth, thank a feminist.
Yada, yada, yada. With no mention of the fact that the current embodiemnt of the American soldier is trying to give and restore those rights to Muslim women. Let alone any mention of soldiers past who kept America free enough to let feminism flower in the western hemisphere.

But we must respect their culture
Girl: Mom sold me to be 'wife'
A Monroe County grand jury is about to hear the story of a Rochester teenager who says her mother sold her for $3,000 to another family that forced her to do household chores and have sex with a 21-year-old man.
In statements included in court documents, the 15-year-old girl said her mother ordered her to live with the family every weekend for almost a year.
Under threat of severe beatings, the girl said, she was made to clean up after the family and to live as one mans bride. She described the man as the son and the brother of other family members.
Bekim Lapjani, 21, of 156 Afton St. has been charged with first-degree rape.
The report does not name the parents, since doing so would name the girl. But how much do you want to bet that they worship a moon god?
The multi-culti left like to downplay crimes such as these. And the female circumcisions. And the honor killings.
The next time you hear someone say that the culture of a thrid world country is equal to that of western civilization, kick them squarely in the nuts.
PS - Yes, I read that they were sponsored by a Lutheran Church to live in America. Don't mean sh*t.

Serve with John Kerry?
The you must support his bid for the Presidency.
From The Poor Schmuck
A photograph of John Kerry with 19 other Coastal Division 11 Swift boat officers is featured in a new Kerry campaign ad called Lifetime. Swift Boat Veterans for Truth contacted surviving members of this group to find out how many actually support Kerry. Click on the photo to see the results.
Click here for a morphing video of the two images.
Here's the breakdown:
Of the 19 Swift boat skippers pictured, 12 oppose Kerry, 2 are neutral, 2 have yet to be contacted, one has died, and 2 are working with the Kerry campaign. The four officers not present for the photo all oppose Kerry.
In other Kerry news, he has now decided to follow Bush's lead and ignore France.
France's new foreign minister, Michel Barnier, said that France would never send troops to Iraq, not even as part of a peacekeeping force.
"It is out of the question," Mr. Barnier said in an interview published Thursday in Le Monde. "There will be no French soldiers in Iraq, not now and not later."
Kerry's response,
"There are senators and . . . diplomats who have had conversations with other folks that I think indicate that--given the right equation, given the right statesmanship and leadership--it is possible to have a very different level of participation," Kerry said Friday at his Washington campaign headquarters.
"I know what the public statements are today," the presumed Democratic presidential nominee added. "It doesn't deter me one iota from saying what I say, based on what my private conversations have been."

Screw the "homeless"
Raging Dave covers this topic better than I can, but I'm wanting to vent on it right now.
A "Homeless Advocacy Group" (aka HAG) here in the Seattle area threatens to turn a county park into a tent city. The County Executive and Asshat Extraordiniaire (who is also running for Governor) Ron Sims, caves in and offers them a chunk of county land to use.
The problems are these: First, the land is in the middle of suburbia. Private homes, schools, churches and stripmalls. And two, THE COUNTY FORGOT TO TELL THE LOCALS that 100+ vagrants would be moving in down the street.
Luckily, the local conservative radio station got wind of it and got folks riled up and forced the county to hold a meeting on the matter.
After the meeting, two local churches offered the HAG's a larger chunk of land than the county was offering them. And they turned it down, saying that 'homelessness' is a community problem and that the community shouldn't sluff the job off onto the churches.
Excuse me, but isn't a church a large part of American community?
Anyway, the Executive Asshat put out a statement that was so devoid of facts as to be ridiculous. He said that if the tent city was moved into the neighborhood, CRIME WOULD GO DOWN!
What a crock of sh*t.
There is one of these tent cities in Seattle's Lake City. Crime has skyrocketed. Both vandalism and theft are the worst that area has seen in years. The two nearby parks are nearly impossible to use. One of them is nearly brand new. Costing the city $400,000, it is think with needles and broken bottles.
Another part of his statement said most of these 'homeless' work.
Huh? Then why are they homeless, Ron?
Even one of the HAG people admits that less than 30% of these folks can work part-time jobs.
Even with the crap that the county council has pulled in the past, I never thought that they could be this arrogant. I have learned my lesson.
This is nothing but an attempt to normalize the homeless lifestyle. If the HAG's get this chunk of land, they'll never leave. And they'll ask for more. The county already has a list of potential sites throughout the county.
And do you want to know the only funny thing about this problem?
This site and half of the other ones are designated as wetlands.

Dr. Horsefeathers has a question
What do you call an Arab man who dresses in women's clothes and shoots unarmed civilians?
Some context...
"...Gunfire from Palestinians disguised as women was directed at a memorial ceremony at Kissufim junction for Tali Hatuel and her four daughters murdered there by Palestinians terrorist May 2. No one hurt. Hundreds of mourners threw themselves to the ground and were evacuated under fire. Israeli soldiers shot two Palestinian gunmen dead..."
Answer below
A "palestinian" hero.
And as Bernard says in the comments of that post:
"Let me get this straight. While one Arab man decries the humiliation of being made to feel like a woman (while in US custody), another eagerly assumes the role in order to kill?"
PS: For those unfamiliar, I use the quote marks around the word "palestinians" as a means of derision pointed at that group of Muslim land grabbers.

Birds of a Feather
Flock together.
I'm sure that by now you have heard of Brandon Mayfield. He's the Portland, Oregon attourney whose finger prints were found on a bag of detonators connected to the Madrid train bombings.
Guess who his lawyer is.
One Tom Nelson.
And why should you know of Tom Nelson?
Because he's the sole founder of "American's United for Palestinian Human Rights"
I guess I should have named the title of this post "Turds on Our Feathers" (re. the feathers of our national symbol, the Bald Eagle).

He's not just evil, he's deeply disturbed.
Rall's preformance on The O'Reilly Factor,
TED RALL, POLITICAL CARTOONIST: Well, it's not about being disrespectful to Mr. Tillman or his family. It's about making the broader point about the fact that the people who volunteered to go fight in Iraq and Afghanistan were used, were misled, and possibly even had ill intent in going over there to fight.
O'REILLY: But your strip here mentions Tillman specifically, and uses the words idiot, sap. You have a question mark on it. But I mean, for a guy who died fighting for his country, you don't think you crossed an ethical line here?
RALL: Well, I don't think honestly, I think it's a horrible tragedy that people have died in Afghanistan and Iraq, but it's a lie to say that they've died for their country. I have been to Afghanistan, and there's no way you could confuse that with the Texas-Mexico border. You are not defending your country when you fight in Afghanistan.
The central theme of Rall's arguement's when you look often enough, is utter nonsense. I don't mean he's simply full of shit, (right up to the cone shaped tip of his head), but that he can say stuff like this,
O'REILLY: Yes. And Usama bin Laden admits that he was the guy behind it.
RALL: Well, that's not true either.
O'REILLY: Yes, it is.
RALL: I mean, I don't doubt that it's true. But if people spin that on this network and elsewhere that that, you know, video proves that he admits it. It's not true at all. It's like if I tell you I'm going to rob a bank tomorrow, it doesn't mean that you robbed the bank.
He plays defense lawyer for Bin Laden? Is there anybody, I mean freaking anybody who is not a foaming at the mouth far left looney that buys this horseshit? He wants to give Bin Laden the benefit of the doubt, yet says this about his own government?
RALL: I didn't say it was Usama bin Laden didn't do it. I don't know who did it. The administration has yet to present the white paper that Colin Powell promised in the days after 9/11 to prove to the American people who was responsible and what we know. The American people still have a lot of questions about Sept. 11
You know he had to put in the insinuation that our government is hiding who really did 9/11. Just bleeping had too. Course the implication he makes is clear, Arabs, middle east are innocent pawns.....US, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad,.....Rall's claim to be a good liberal democrat should make real democrats shake with rage. This ass pirate claims he's one of you. His proof of everything he says?
O'REILLY: Well, Ted, look, you know more than everybody else. And when you get your proof, you bring it right back here. But I'll tell you what...
RALL: I'll send you my book.
Well fuck me, how can you dispute facts like that?, he got out his crayon and scribbled down his wacked theories, pet hatreds and universal disdain for the west and capitalism in general and that constitutes his proof?
Personally, I'm coming rapidly to the side that says he gets a woody from being hated, he just loves all that nasty attention. He may not even believe all the bullshit he shovels, worse yet, maybe none of it. It's the whining cry of a rabid attention whore. But you know, he may just have pushed the edge a little bit too far this time. He bashs Bush, he gets an instant audience from the hate Bush more than Satan himself crowd, but bash Tillman?...........
Just look into these eyes and tell me something.
Is there anyone home?

U.N. bigs 'seal' the oil deals
The United Nations yesterday threw up a stone wall in the oil-for-food scandal, insisting that contracts between the world body and private companies should not be turned over to investigators.
I might be able to respect some of the more clear thinking members of the left if they would worry about the biggest monetary scandal in the history of the world as much as they do about Cheney's Energy Conference or Bush's testimony to the September 11th committee.
But alas, they don't/won't/can't.

Just one fellow's opinion
Before du Toit, den Beste, Lileks or any of the blogoverse's other master ranters get ahold of this, I just want to put my thoughts down on the recent al-Qiada offer to the world, minus the US and Israel.
I'm not as articulate, but I get my point across.
And here we go....
They're running scared. They've realized that we're serious. And they've figured out that we can and will win. And even if we have to twist a few arms in the process, we will gather up the rest of the world and go to their homes and kill them.
They want to drive a wedge between the US/Israel and the rest of the world because they know that they can draw this fight out for centuries instead of a generation or two if they can get some of our allies to fall off the bandwagon.
They learned this tactic from the arguments in the UN during the 'Rush to War' with Iraq. They saw that Saddam's bribes to france, Germany, etc helped Saddam hold power for a few extra months.
They know that if they can bribe states with immunity from attacks (however temporarily), they'll have bought themselves some time.
I don't care if OBL is dead or not (FYI, I think he's a degrading stain on a cave wall right now), whoever made this offer has just realized he is a coward.
Just like al-Sadr realized he is a coward.
Both of these individuals want to meet Alah. They just don't want to have to die to do so. That makes them cowards.
Al-Sadr also realized (too late) that encouraging the killing of Marines is a good way to meet Allah. That is why he is currently 'negotiating'.
My advice to any who will listen is: Kill them now.
Stop negotiating and go for the throat. If they're scared now, l guarantee that the look on their face at the moment of their death will be priceless.
Don't make me come over there. I'm not ready yet.

Go Away, Galloway
Now I know why they banned guns in England.
George Galloway, taker of Iraqi Oil Bribes, is an idiot (in case you hadn't come to that conclusion yet).
That religious fundamentalism is out and stalking the land and seeking political power and, other than by denying democratic elections, in the short term it's impossible to see how it can be denied power. Iraq will soon be led by men in turbans with long beards, whose ideological inspirations are the Ayatollah Khomeini and Osama Bin Laden. There may come a day, maybe sooner than you think, when western policy makers may be wishing Saddam was back.
Someone needs to put this guy out of his misery.

Utah eliminates firing squad executions
Lawmakers have said the elimination of firing squads will deny killers the chance to go out in a blaze of glory. Despite the measure's passage, the state will make allowance for four death row inmates who have already chosen to die in a hail of bullets.
So now, people who have commited the most heinous of crimes can only choose a kinder, gentler mode of death.
I want upside down crucifixtions as an option.

Screw the 'Freedom of Speech'
By those lovers of all freedoms, Kerry supporters.
TAMPA, FL (Talon News) -- A campaign staffer for likely Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John F. Kerry (D-MA) confronted a woman holding a sign opposing abortion at a campaign event.
LifeNews.com reported on Rebecca Porter's encounter with Kerry in Tampa, Florida recently when she decided to create a sign that read, "My abortion hurt me."
Porter stood outside the campaign event holding her sign in plain view of Kerry campaign supporters.
You can't have that sign here," the staffer told Porter, according to LifeNews.com.
The Kerry campaign staffer took the sign and "tore it to pieces" before quickly retreating.
"He wouldn't even let me have the pieces," Porter told LifeNews.com.
There has been no comment from the Kerry campaign about this incident.
Yeah, the source is a bit suspect, but, if this is true, this was wrong. No matter which side of the debate you stand on.

Few more deserving
The vicious beating of a 12-year-old girl at a birthday party in West Baltimore has led to the arrest of five people -- three women and two girls -- who are accused of kicking, stomping and punching the girl until she was bloodied and unconscious.
The victim, Nicole Ashley Townes, of the 400 block of Lyndhurst St., has been in a coma since the Feb. 28 attack. She was listed in critical condition last night at Johns Hopkins Childrens Center.
Doctors treating Nicole told police that she has severe head injuries and "no brain activity" -- the result of neurological damage from loss of oxygen.
According to charging documents obtained by The Sun, Nicole and her half-sister, Brenda Bailey, 11, were at Monique Baldwin's house for the 13-year-old girl's party. Someone dared a boy to kiss Nicole. After the boy kissed her, several people surrounded Nicole and Brenda.
Monique Baldwin told the 14-year-old to "handle your business," at which point the 14-year-old and 13-year-old began to slap and punch Nicole and Brenda and the 13-year-old stomped on Nicole's head, according a witness statement in the documents.
5 heads / 5 - 380ACP rounds / 7 cents each = 35 cents.
Yes, the 13 and 14 year old too.
The adults egged the girls on, the children did the actual damage.
And yes, I'd have cut the baby in half. Solomon was a pussy.

Gun-Hating Blowhard Hypocrite speaks out on Gay 'Marriage'
Not Micheal Moore, Rosie O'Donnell.
Ms. O'Donnell, known Second Amendment hypocrite, has decided to go to San Fransisco to get 'married'. Normally this would not rate post, even though Ms. O'Donnell's smug, chubby face fills causes a RCOB before my eyes, everytime I see it.
However, when the Cartman-TrapperKeeper Monst ... er, Rosie O'Donnell says that 'the actions of the president are, in my opinion, the most vile and hateful words ever spoken by a sitting president', I have to say something.
1) What is it Bush said or did that angered you, Rosie? The words or the actions? They aren't the same thing. And wasn't LBJ's 'n*gger' comment more vile and hateful?
2) Rosie, you stated that 'Bush's war' against Iraq was like a 'bunch of 12th graders kicking the crap out of a 3rd grader (instead of taking the knife away)'. Wasn't that more hateful than supporting an amendment that will maintain the definition of marriage that has existed in the Western World, since ther has been a Western World? After all, wasn't Bush going to kill lots of 'innocent mothers and children and fathers'? Surely that is more vile than a piece of legislation which does not arrest or imprison anyone.
3) Rosie, it is clear that you believe civil disobedience is a proper way to deal with laws you don't like, or you feel, violate your civil rights. You portray yourself as defending a Constitutional right, in this case one not mentioned in the Constitution. So why you do work tirelessly against the Second Amendment? And wouldn't you scream bloody murder if gun owners began ignoring the concealed carry laws?
The other intersting thing about Rosie's upcoming 'marriage', is that she is not marrying for love, or at least not for love alone.
I was torn, before, about the Federal Marriage Amendment. I did not like the judicial activism rampant in the 'gay marriage' issue. However, I do not feel that an Amendment to the Constitution should proposed lightly. Now, with O'Donnell firmly against the Amendment, I am for passing it.

'Ecoterrorism' database plan prompts fear, suspicion
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Tucked into the Senate Republicans' budget is $50,000 to create a database of people and organizations believed to be involved in ecoterrorism.
Opponents say the proposal smacks of McCarthyism, and worry overzealous list-makers could label peaceful activists as terrorists.
What peacefull activists?
"Almost anybody could end up in this database," said Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Olympia, who tried unsuccessfully Wednesday to delete the provision she called "spooky" and "scary."
"One of the great things about America is that you can go out and protest anything," Fraser said. "We need to be very careful about protecting people's political rights."
Sorry Ms. Fraser, but threatening to bomb facilities, setting fire to state property, destroying private businesses, and making death threats to individuals who work in the animal testing industry are not "Forms of Protest", they are 'Terrorism'.
Washington State already has a database of law abiding, gun owning residents, so it is only fair that the freaks that actually commit crimes get their own harddrive.
If anyone wants me to hear more about the Washington State DB on gun owners, e-mail me. I can't seem to find the post I did on it last summer.

Hi, Everybody
Well, this is certainly unexpected. I have been a fan of Random Nuclear Strikes for at least six months, but never saw myself getting a chance to help out. I can't replace Puggs, and I won't even try. I certainly hope that nothing is wrong with him or his family, and that he comes back someday, even if it is just to say hello.
I am sure that I will end up double posting behind Analog Kid or Nukevet, but I promise to at least try to bring my own perspective. My only problem is that about 75% of the time my perspective is DITTO. ;)
As for now, I have a question that maybe somebody reading this can anwser:
"What part of the Constitution did the US Supreme Court use to justify the 1803 decision of Marbury v. Madison?"
The reason I ask is that this case is where did the SCOTUS decided that THEY were the final arbiters of what was and was not Constitutional? I have read both the Constitution, and articles about the case, and I cannot figure out where they get the authority? Why doesn't the Congress simply pass a law making it illegal for the Sumpreme Court to determine the Constitutionality of a law or government action?
I would not be surprised if I am missing some simple explanation for this, and if somebody could explain it to me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Any other suggestions or ideas would also be appreciated.
*UPDATE* As usual, Mrs. du Toit has the answers to all questions Constitutional. In this case, check the comments.

Get the government out of my automobile
I'm very glad I don't live in New Mexico.
Some state lawmakers are convinced they have the answer to solve the D.W.I. epidemic and want to require everyone on the road to take a breathalyzer test before they can start the engine of any vehicle.
Today, the proposal is one very large step closer to becoming law.
A bill requiring an ignition interlock device be installed on every car, truck, bus or motorcycle in New Mexico passed the state house today and is on its way to the senate.
So now you have a state government telling you that you are guilty of DUI until you prove yourself innocent.
What next, a blood/urine test to make sure that I'm not smoking a bowl/hitting the rock/shooting some smack before I can drive.
Or maybe they want to legally bind me to install one of these devices on my 1911.
Yes, I know that driving a car is a privilege and owning a gun is a right, but nothing in the Second Amendment says that I have the right to USE the gun.
Remember the attempt to put a multidollar tax on each round of ammunition during the early 90's?
In any case, this another useless governmentally required add-on that will raise the price of new automobiles. And from the sound of the bill, it sounds like they will require all vehicles to be retroactively outfitted with the device. Exactly who is expected to pay for that at $450 a pop?
The private citizen.
Oh sure, at a later date they'll pass a bill giving people a tax credit for putting one in. Sure they will.
And what about the drunks already being made to use one by court order who have figured out how to bypass the computer? The instrument isn't exactly 'Smart Technology'. Are they going to require photo evidence that it is actually me blowing into the mouthpiece?
And what about grandma and her asthma? How is she ever going to meet the computers requirement for volume? Or are they going to start issuing exemptions?
And are government vehicles going to be required to be outfitted with these? If not, why?
What a load of 'feel good' legislative crap!

Laid Back Friday
I'm taking it easy today to save up my energy for tomorrow, so here are some highlights of the news involving the Pacific Northwest.
I'm sure that by now you have all heard of the jackass who is being charged with trying to send information to Al Qiada.
I like Raging Dave's idea of punishment.
"throw a rope over the barrel of an Abrahms tank and hang that fucker. Display the corpse while they're rolling through Iraq. And by the time the bones drop off, and his skull is all that's left, fill it with shit from the head and bury it in the desert"
But I have an idea that is slower and more enjoyable for those watching. Maybe I'll tell you all someday.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, the local hardcore leftie weekly, The Stranger, is running their annual "Seattle's Sexiest" contest. This year, they had a "Sexiest Republican in Seattle" category.
Here is what they had to say about Ms. Terra,
Can Republicans--those religious-nutcase coddling, Iraq-war-starting, record-deficit creating psychos-- ever be sexy? Sure! Look at Terra here--she could make Al Gore drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. And the best thing about having sex with a Republican? They know how to blow stuff! They blow surpluses, they blow holes in budgets, they blow wars--you name it, they blow it!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In other news from north of my current location....
A music teacher admits to having sex with a 16yr old student on school grounds. The school district offers him the chance to enter his resignation and walk away from this quitely. No fuss, no muss.
He tells them to stuff it.
He wants 3 months severance pay and a letter of recommendation!
Here is what it boils down to.
The Washington Education Association (WEA) is giving him a lawyer and the teacher is instructing the lawyer to sue the school district for the money and the letter.
His severance pay will cost the school district approximately $16,000.
It will cost the district $40,000 to fight this in court.
And the lawyer had the gall to remind the school superintendant of this to try and get him to not fight it.
Thankfully, the superintendant IS going to fight it, even though money is short in the district.
One of the local talk radio shows had the head of WEA on-air for an interview and the guy said that the association's hands were tied because it is state law that mandates that the WEA was obligated to give this teacher a lawyer.
This is pure sh*t. This is not the first time a teacher has been popped for screwing his/her students and had to go through this type of crap. If it really broke their hearts to have to give this guy a free lawyer, they'd have use their very large bank account to get the law changed.
Just more proof that the teacher's unions could give less than a shit about 'the children'.
And just another example of why you should home school your kids.

The Revolution will not be televised
County Council doesn't want criticism aired on television
They've turned off the cameras at the Pierce County Council.
To be more specific, they've turned off the cameras when members of the public want to speak.
The blackout began last week. After going through the regular agenda with cameras on, council Chairman Harold Moss made this announcement last Tuesday: "Under my authority and with my discretion as the chair, this concludes the televised portion of the County Council meeting. We will go now to item 11, public comment. General public comment."
The video of the meeting was replaced with a slide telling viewers when the council meets and when meetings are rebroadcast.
Why the change? Moss said he decided that some were using the comment time to disrupt the meeting, to attack council members, to bait them into argument.
"You want to come to my office and call me an S.O.B., fine. We can get it on," Moss said Monday. "But I don't think the council has to listen to that."
Oh, but Mr. Moss, I don't think that the council has a choice.
Just because you were elected does not mean you are free to disallow public criticism. You cannot lock any and all controversy behind your office door.

GoogleBoobs
Im sure that you all have heard the term Googlebombing.
I know that Mr. Raging Dave is in cahoots to get Hillary Clinton aligned with the phrase Miserable Failure
You all remember that term Miserable Failure, dont you. The Dean type lefties were basically googlebombing to get that phrase associated with George W. Bush.
And they were successful.
Time was - say, two months ago - when typing the phrase "miserable failure" into the Google search box produced an unexpected result: the White House's official biography of President George W. Bush. But now the president has a fight on his hands for the top ranking - from former President Jimmy Carter, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and the author-filmmaker Michael Moore.
The unlikely electoral battle is being waged through "Google bombing," or manipulating the Web's search engines to produce, in this case, political commentary. Unlike Web politicking by other means, like hacking into sites to deface or alter their message, Google bombing is a group sport, taking advantage of the Web-indexing innovation that led Google to search-engine supremacy.
Google bombing has quickly become an armchair sport among those who have a message to broadcast and perhaps a bit too much time on their hands. For nearly a year, the No. 1 search result on Google for the term "weapons of mass destruction" has been a satirical Web page made to resemble an error message that reads, "These Weapons of Mass Destruction Cannot Be Displayed."
The Liberty Round Table, a libertarian group, started a Google bomb that linked the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a nutrition advocacy group, with the term "food Nazis." (As a follow-up, the group is trying to make the Internal Revenue Service site the No. 1 Google result for the term "organized crime.") Other recent Google bombs have sought to associate President Bush, Senator Clinton and Senator Rick Santorum, a Pennsylvania Republican, with various unprintable phrases.
Oh, poor babies.
So, who would be a good subject for our next googlebomb
ALF/ELF for the term useless cowards maybe?

More Crap from the Nanny State
I'll bet that those bullies never chased anyone home after this.
A 14-year-old boy fired four rifle shots from his upstairs window last week, killing a 17-year-old youth, because he felt his South Seattle home was under siege by the victim and other neighborhood rivals, prosecutors said yesterday.
The 14-year-old was charged yesterday in King County juvenile court with second-degree murder for the Jan. 6 death of Clarence Antonio "CB" Grundy, who died at Harborview Medical Center several hours after the shooting.
According to prosecution documents, Grundy and several others surrounded the 14-year-old boy's house in the 4700 block of 32nd Avenue South, throwing bottles, bicycle tire rims and rocks. A tire rim apparently had broken a window.
Prosecutors allege that the teen took his father's rifle from a closet, aimed and fired four times
So now, in Seattle, people can chase you into your home and make it so that it is a danger for you to try and leave and even wage an assault on your home and private property, and the criminals are the ones who are safe.
Even I am having a hard time believing this.

The enemy
Quoting Instapundit, "THEY'RE NOT ANTI-WAR -- they're just on the other side:".
Just when you thought the German peace movement couldnt get much more hypocritical they take things to a whole new level. Last week the unbelievable lack of protest at the German governments plutonium and arms deal with Communist China made it seem as the peace freaks had all rolled up into a big ball for a long winter hibernation.
Not so! The German TV news program Panorama uncovered some of the wonderful activities that particularly dedicated cadres of the German peace movement are currently engaged in. In the spirit of peace, a number of groups have started a fund-raising campaign entitled 10 Euros for the Iraqi Resistance. The money will be provided to the Iraqi Patriotic Alliance (IPA) a group dedicated to carrying out attacks against US soldiers in Iraq in collaboration with Saddam loyalists. The common goal is to "liberate the Iraqi people from the evil imperialist American occupiers. On their website these groups gush with enthusiasm about turning Iraq into another Vietnam for the USA.
Cover your ears pumpkin,.......................Daddy's gonna yell.
What do you call someone who funds terrorists and provides aid? I call them the walking dead. A target rich enviroment, wether by JDAM from 20,000 ft. or from the K-bar of a SEAL, death needs to seek them out. They are not American, are making themselves players in a game where the prize in collected in blood and bone, so they get's what they get's. YOU RUN WITH THE BIG DOGS, GET READY TO FEEL SOME TEETH IN YOUR THROAT!
Oh man, for a locked room and a bat, a chain, or my bare friggin pawlike hands. They really get a giggle from playing at this. How hard will they laugh when they are choking on their own blood? How friggin funny would that be? I WANT THEIR STEAMING GUTS STRUNG LIKE TINSEL, THEIR MICRO-TESTICLES HUNG ON DISPLAY, AND THEIR EARS STRUNG LIKE POPCORN STRINGS.
DID I LEAVE ANYTHING OUT?
Like some I have a dark side, these Che' ass-suckers bring out the beast in me. This isn't romance, not politics, not even wildeyed fantasy. It's playing at war.
Well OK then, let the lessons commence.
